The Key Figures of Slovenian Theatre

Academic symposium organised by the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Research Station Maribor) and University of Maribor Library

The topic of the event is closely linked to the work of the Novi slovenski biografski leksikon [New Slovenian Biographical Lexicon], published by the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The principal theme of this first meeting – The Challengers of the Borders – will be the key figures who in their time and space ventured beyond the borders of the accepted image of theatre. Renowned theatre authors and researchers will structure their presentations in a way congruent with the basic outline of the biographical entries, but will autonomously choose their emphasis and interpret the work of the individual.

The contributions will be published in an academic monograph as a part of Biographic Studies within the Life and Work series from the Institute of Cultural History at the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
